Hamsa Magen: the background pattern of this pendant form an interlocking hexagon design which creates continuous design of the Magen David. Eighteen stars stand out crowned by the 19th. created in white gold. These stars relate to the silent prayer"Shemoneh Esreh." (Amidah) This is the heart of every prayer service. This is the heart of every prayer service. It contains the basic components of prayer: Praising G-d, petitioning Him and giving thanks for what is given us. Whenever the Talmud refers to "tefilah "(prayer), it means the "Shmoneh Esreh" so-called because of the original eighteen blessings. The Shmoneh Esreh (amidah) is followed by a 19th. blessing for peace, here symbolized by the large center star.
